What we do:

Mission Fair Transition is a volunteer think tank. We work on policy proposals for a socially just ecological transformation of the European economy. We believe that political change towards a sustainable future is possible, if a broad majority of people unite behind a common recognition of the crises at hand and progressive ideas to tackle them. To make this possible, people need to have access to independent and scientifically sound information about:

 how European politics works;
 which policies currently exist and how they impact their lives;
 what kind of additional action would be necessary to combat climate change effectively;
 and which ideas could be implemented to take such action.

We provide this information! And we do it in a way that everybody can understand. We translate complicated political, economic and scientific issues into a language that is comprehensible for everyone, even those who haven’t studied law, economics, political science or who haven’t gone to a university at all.

We know that you have little time in your everyday live. That’s why we offer you different publication formats for every topic that we cover.
You just want some quick introduction to a topic on your way to work or during lunch? Great, our Instagram Posts offer exactly this! Swipe through 5-10 informative and appealing slides and get a basic understanding of a problem or a policy.
You prefer watching videos to reading texts? No problem! We are also about to set up a TikTok Chanel, where you can find short video clips on all our topics.
You want to delve deeper and get more detailed information on a specific topic? Wonderful! That’s what our MFT Policy Briefs are there for. You can either read them on our website or download them as PDF.
Are you wondering whether our publications are a trustworthy and reliable source of information? Well, good on you for having a healthy level of skepticism! Here are some reasons to trust us and our outlets:

We obtain the information for our Policy Briefs exclusively from scientific sources, official documents such as legal texts and official websites. Each source is linked directly in the texts, so you can easily fact check everything we write.
We try to take a pluralistic view of the topics we discuss and take up different scientific and political views.
All our publications undergo a proofreading process in which they are reviewed by all members of our initiative from a wide variety of backgrounds as well as by at least one independent academic expert.
Last but not least: We are an independent initiative that is not under the influence of any political party, company or state authority. We do not pursue anyone's agenda. We only have our own agenda and that is to provide our fellow citizens with factual, honest and simple knowledge about how a socially just, ecological transformation in Europe can work and what is already being done today to achieve it.

Our aim is to enable others to talk about transformation issues in an informed and discerning way and to formulate clear demands. In this way, we also want to inspire other actors from the climate, social and democracy movement with our ideas and build influential networks for the implementation of progressive policies.

Ultimately, we want to contribute ideas, arguments and discursive groundwork to the movement for a Green New Deal in Europe. If you want to learn more about the concept of a Green New Deal, click here.

Write us an email and we can arrange an onboarding session and discuss everything else. We look forward to seeing you!
